At the end of August, we took a trip to Blenheim Palace. I’ve always wanted to visit and on this particular weekend they also had a transport show/event taking place. It was a busy day, but there wasn’t too much waiting and the grounds are so large it is easy to lose the crowds. If you’ve never heard of it, Blenheim Palace was built as a gift and celebration in the early 18th century.
It is a stunning building with around 2000 acres of grounds, gardens and lakes. The palace first opened its doors to the public in 1950 and it now serves as a popular filming location for movies such as The BFG, Spectre, The Young Victoria and Harry Potter.
‘In memory of happy days and as a tribute to this glorious home we leave thy voice to speak within these walls in years to come when ours are still.’
