Porto Street Art [Photography]

Recently, I had the chance to spend a few days in Porto – what a charming city it is. One thing I couldn’t help but notice was the amount of street art that was painted across the buildings throughout Gaia and Porto.

The city itself oozes character – abandoned building that seem to hold many stories, beautiful gardens squeezed into tiny patches and striking, blue tiles creating bold images on the side of shops and churches.

Unlike mindless graffiti-tagging, Porto is filled with some seriously talent artists expressing their creativity through this art. This street art helps to bring rich colour to the dull, grey areas of the city, bringing the urban landscape to life.

I only hand a compact camera with me for this trip, but managed to get a few snaps of some of the art. Be warned, a couple are a little ‘adult’ in nature.

I’m sure there were plenty more to discover, if only I had longer in the city.

I love when graffiti is art work and not just a tag
