Sunday Cycle – 25 miles

What better to do on a Sunday morning then get on the bike and find some breakfast! Aiming to go further afield, we plotted out a route that stopped off at Waitrose Farm Shop in Leckford.

It was quite a nice route, the roads were fairly clear and it had a generous amount of hill climbing to get the heart racing! It was nice to see other cyclists out and about as well. Most looking far more hardcore than me.

The route was a nice distance – 25 miles, broken up with breakfast half way. The Leckford cafe is yummy and certainly worth a visit if you haven’t been.  The pancakes for breakfast went down a treat! You can cycle right up to the cafe, its a long, steady (uphill) drive to the venue but there is plenty of space to secure the bike when you arrive.

On the way back we headed through Fullerton, Cottonworth, Chilbolton, Wherwell. These are all lovely places and areas I’ve been running in the past. You’ll get views of the River Test and you can pick up the Test Way from Stockbridge.

Wow. You must have moved to a very large mansion. It only takes me a few seconds to get from the bedroom to the kitchen for Sunday breakfast. No need to cycle.

I’ve been looking for a good farm shop since moving to the South and was curious to where Leckford was. Turns out it’s less than an hour away so I’ll definitely be paying it a visit! Thanks for the tip

Whereabouts are you based? Leckford is lovely but it tends to get busy in peak hours – glad it was helpful. 🙂
